Tenx9 is a storytelling event where nine people have up to ten minutes each to tell a true story from their lives.
Each event has a theme, and we invite people to submit a true story from their life on that theme.
We have been at Greenbelt for many years and are delighted to be part of Greenbelt 2020 via Zoom. The theme is ‘Lockdown’
We would ♥️🧡💚🖤❤️ to meet you on zoom to hear your Lockdown story.
If you have a Tenx9 story to submit for Greenbelt, you can fill in the form below. Please read the brief outline below.
Submitting a story for Tenx9 Greenbelt 2020.
We want one true story from your life. Each part of that is important. One story. True. From your own life.
It is important you know that Tenx9 isn’t for reminiscences, spiritual reflections, your entire life story, inspirational talks, sermons or manifestoes. Those forms are brilliant! but they’re not what Tenx9 is about. We are about one true story from your own life on the theme of ‘Lockdown’.
For Tenx9 for Greenbelt 2020. we’re interested in stories that are a little shorter than normal - perhaps 5-7 minutes. That’s about 700-1000 words in your submission.
We need to see your submission in order to know that you’re telling a story and whether it fits in with the theme; also, in order to get a good order.
Make sure you know the theme! (It’s ‘Lockdown’.)
When it comes to your story, within a sentence or two, we want to be wondering ‘What’s going to happen next?’ or ‘What happened before?’
There’s no need to have give an introduction. Just drop us into a true story: “The last day I saw my friend…” or “The strangest thing in Lockdown was when I heard my dog talk…”
You don’t need to give us a conclusion either: “The thing this story taught me is…” We can probably guess that already, and there are probably heaps of different things different people will take from your story.
If there are a few characters, help us. Using “the clever sister” “the man with the bad tie” and “the stranger” is going to make it easier for the audience than remembering who Fionnghuala, Cuthbert and Hephzibah are.
