So, our Tenx9 theme for Monday 15th October is "Things my parents never told me". 9 people, with up to 10 minutes each to tell a real story along this theme. We have 3 or 4 spaces left. Come and listen, come and share, come and enjoy.

Of course the stories exploring "you never told me" may imply the response of:

Either way, we will look forward to stories about life, stories about mothers, stories about fathers, stories about being a child, stories about being an adult - stories from strangers and strange stories from friends. See you at Tenx9. Tips for writing/telling your story above.

We have taken a break this summer from our usual monthly Tenx9 sessions. But we have done a few events at festivals - we had a delicious night up on the north coast hearing stories about Sierra Leone, the civil rights movement, ridealongs with police, stories about sorry, stories about the early days of Corrymeela - lovely.

So - we are thrilled that Tenx9 will have THREE EVENTS at Greenbelt this year.

The idea is simple. Tenx9 invites nine people to have up to ten minutes each to tell a real story (not fiction!) from their lives. The themes are:

Paradise Found (Saturday 9.30pm at the Hub - literature venue - at Greenbelt)

Paradise Lost (Sunday 10pm at the Hub - literature venue - at Greenbelt)

Friendship. (Monday 9am at the Hub - literature venue - at Greenbelt - this event is for younger people - and we are imagining that we will have 9 stories of about 5 minutes each)
Are you interested? Your story can be very very loosely based on the theme - or you can just come along with a damn good story that has the words of the theme somewhere in it and we will look forward to it.
If you're interested - send us an email (tenbynine [at] gmail [dot] com) or else fill in one of the contact us forms here.
We can't wait to hear your story at Greenbelt's Tenx9 nights. Be in touch! You can find the event by putting in "Tenx9 storytelling sessions at Greenbelt" into Facebook, or email us on tenbynine [at] gmail [dot] com or send us a tweet @tenx9
See you in the field.

Our final Tenx9 before a summer break will be on Thursday 21st June at 7.30pm in the Green Room of the Black Box. Our theme will be "Tell & Show". I did some community work a few years ago with some wonderful women in East Belfast Mission. One night a small drum used by the local boys' parading company was found - and they decided that it would be both honouring and hilarious if Pádraig the Catholic took it home. That drum sits in my house - it is full of the stories that those women told, the stories they didn't tell, their humour, their survival and the gift of their lives. It's a treasured gift.  Everybody has stuff around the house that is more dear to you because of the story that it holds. Bring it along - and tell us.

We are also hoping that everybody will bring along a little tell&show item - and chat about it over the drinks breaks with the folks at your table.

So - come along. Come to tell, come to show, come to listen, come to enjoy the goodness of nine people taking up to ten minutes each to tell a real story from their life.

If you want to tell your story - fill in the form here.

Paul and Pádraig.

Our second last Tenx9 event before the summer break is on May 30th, in the usual venue - the Green Room of the Black Box on Hill Street in Belfast.

Following a suggestion from Paula, the theme will be "Courage"

Come along - come to listen, come to share a story. Nine people with up to ten minutes each to tell a real story from their lives about courage.
